Ginger Rodriguez

My name is Ginger Rodriguez, and I am a wife, mom, and Gigi. My family is my biggest “why” and they are the most important people to me. I have four children and one granddaughter. Two girls, then two boys – 21, 19, 14, and 8 – and my granddaughter is 2. I am originally from Corpus Christi, TX so I’m more of a “beach girl” Texan rather than a “cowgirl” Texan. I have a BSA with a focus in Management and spent most of my 20’s in the medical spa industry as a laser hair removal technician. Yes, I have seen it all! Around 29, I started working from home doing medical legal administrative work, which I loved because that was the first time I was able to be a “stay-at-home mom” so to speak.
In 2014, I met my husband and we married the next year and had my last son 2017 and during my time working from home, I took a part-time position as a caregiver. This was a decision made following some time I spent with my grandmother soon before she passed. I discovered such a passion for our Seniors as a caregiver, I really never knew I had.
As my youngest got into elementary school I didn’t really need to be at home as much, so for that and a few other reasons, I decided I was ready to do something different. I have always loved numbers and problem solving so I found a way to put my passion for our mature population and numbers together and I became a financial consultant with Five Rings Financial and a Medicare Specialist.
Through Five Rings, I offer free financial education to the public and host a women’s networking event monthly to bring about better financial literacy in my community and especially to other women. My greatest joy and honor as a financial consultant is working with our pre-retirees and retirees to show them safe money strategies with regard to retirement income, teaching them how to create their own pension plans, and helping provide them with a guaranteed life stream of income for retirement. I am passionate about this because I believe we all have the right to retire with dignity and should have the opportunity to choose how we spend our time during that season of our life.
Medicare was something I added to my business about a year after I started consulting because I had found that so many Seniors are confused with the whole process of Medicare – most don’t even realize that they have no idea what they have! First-timers get anxiety about getting signed up in time to avoid penalties and our Medicare recipients who have been on Medicare for some time don’t realize the importance of checking their plan annually to make sure it still fits their current needs. So, I enjoy being that trustworthy person to help the 65+ understand the ABC’s and lmnop’s of Medicare.
When I’m not working, I’m usually with my family and my cats, probably doing some kind of DIY or crafty project!
